Sunlight is considered to be a source of energy which finds applications in Automobile Sectors to reduce the consumption of fuel and environment friendly. With the help of this technology, we started to make solar energy powered car for the competition in the year 2016 initiated by HOD Dr Shivanna and the team Advisor Dr B.S. Praveen Kumar, Department of Mechanical Engineering with the able support of the Management, and Principal of Don Bosco Institute of Technology. The car has been successfully tested for various road conditions. The team participated in Saurya Urja Vehicle Championship 2017-2018 conducted by Refrangible Society of Technophile Engineers held at Gwalior and Won 5 Prizes namely RSTE Future award, Build Quality award, Audience First choice award, Team Spirit award, Dhronacharya award (Team Advisor).

The team DBIT-VICKSENS participated in Gokart Championship at GALGOTIAS UNIVERSITY, Gr. NOIDA on 17th to 20th January 2018 conducted by Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE), INDIA and Won 2 Prizes namely 1st Place in People Choice award, 2nd place in Cross Pad Test.
